தீபாவளி பண்டிகையின்போது யதார்த்தமாக தீப ஒளியுடன் எடுக்கப்பட்ட இந்திய பெண்ணின் புகைப்படத்தை ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனம் தனது குளோபல் விளம்பரங்களில் பயன்படுத்த தேர்வு செய்துள்ளது.

பெங்களூருவை சேர்ந்தவர் ஆஷிஷ். இவரது மனைவி ரைனா நானயா. கடந்த தீபாவளி பண்டிகையின்போது ஆஷிஷ் தனது மனைவி ரைனா சிகப்பு வர்ண புடவையில் கையில் தீபத்துடன் இருப்பது போல தனது ஐ போன் 6ல் புகைப்படங்களை எடுத்தார். அந்த புகைப்படம் மிக அழகாகவும் ரைனாவை தெய்வீக கலையுடன் ஒரு தேவதை போல காட்டியது.

ஆஷிஷ், பின்னர் அந்த புகைப்படத்தை ஐபோன் 6ல் எடுக்கப்பட்டதாக #ShotOniPhone6S என ஹேஸ்டேக் உருவாக்கி இணையதளங்களில் வெளியிட்டார். இதனை பார்த்த ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனம் அந்த புகைப்படத்தை தனது விளம்பர நோக்கத்துக்காக தேர்வு செய்திருக்கிறது. இந்த போட்டியில் உலகம் முழுக்க இருந்து மிகச்சிறந்த புகைப்பட கலைஞர்கள் 41 பேர் 53 புகைப்படங்களையும் அனுப்பி இருந்தனர். ஆனால் ரைனாவின் புகைப்படம் தேர்வாகியிருப்பதாக டைம் மேகசின் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

தற்போது ரைனாவின் புகைப்படங்களை பயன்படுத்தி ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனம் விளம்பரங்களை வெளியிட ஆரம்பித்து விட்டது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து ரைனாவுக்கும் அவரது கணவருக்கும் வாழ்த்துக்கள் குவிந்து வருகின்றன. ஏராளமானோர் அவருடன் செல்ஃபி எடுத்துக் கொள்ளவும் விரும்புகின்றனர்.

இது குறித்து ஆஷிஷ் தெரிவிக்கையில், ”தீபாவளிப் பண்டிகையின் போது ரைனா எனது தாயாருக்கு தீபங்களை ஏற்ற உதவி செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார். அப்போது வீட்டுக்கு வந்த நான், கையில் தட்டு நிறைய தீபங்ளுடன் ரைனா வந்து கொண்டிருந்ததை பார்த்தேன். தீப ஒளியில் அவரது முகம் தெய்வீக கலையுடன் பிரகாசித்தது. அதனை அப்படியே எனது ஐபோனில் புகைப்படமாக பதிவு செய்தேன். ஒரு கணவராக காதலுடன் பதிவு செய்த அந்த புகைப்படம் இப்போது உலகையே வென்று விட்டது ” என்றார்.

அப்பிள் நிறுவனமானது iOS 9.3 இயங்குதளத்தின் பீட்டா பதிப்பினை பரிசோதனைக்காக வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

Apple has been found guilty of using a technology, patented by the University of Wisconsin-Madison way back in 1998, in its chips without the proper permission — and it could cost it close $1 billion.

Reuters reports that Apple has been using technology that’s described in this patent to improve the efficiency of its A7, A8 and A8X processors. Those slabs of silicon are found in the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus, as well as a number of iPad models.

The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation filed a case against Apple in January of this year over the mis-use of the patent, and now a Madison, Wisconsin jury has deemed the claims to be reasonable — Apple used the technology without permission.

Now, the trial will move forward to determine the damages that the university is owed. However, the judge presiding over the case has suggested the figure could reach as much as $860 million.

That’s a lot for a University, though relatively less for Apple. Still, the folks at Cupertino may well be wary of the litigious academics:

last month, the university filed a similar complaint, accusing Apple of using the same technology in its A9 and A9X chips without a license. Looks like things could get rather expensive.

Many major tech companies are eyeing drones — Amazon, Google and even Facebook. It’s unclear at this point whether Apple wants in, too, but one designer has envisioned what the company’s version of a drone might look like if it ever launched one.


German designer Eric Huisman mocked up a sleek drone concept called the Apple Quadcopter, which has a minimalistic black-and-white design. It’s very, well, Apple.

In a series of photos posted to his website, which are stylized to look like Apple’s traditional promotional pictures, the company’s iconic logo sits in the middle of a slightly curved body, an element that Huisman says will support its many built-in cameras.

Similar to a typical quadcopter, the Apple drone has four rotors and four cameras that can shoot still and panoramic photos (up to 100MP). The concept, which was first spotted by CNET, also incorporates 4K video functionality and built-in image stabilization so pictures aren’t blurred. The concept comes as drones in the tech industry are rising. In late 2013, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos announced a service called Amazon Prime Air, which would bring flying robot drones to our doorsteps as early as 2015. Amazon’s drones, which recently received approval from the FAA to begin testing under certain restrictions, aims to deliver products to customers at home or businesses in about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, Google is getting closer to sending solar-powered drones into the sky in an attempt to bring web connectivity to some of the 4 billion people without Internet access worldwide. The drones will hover above specific regions and provide connectivity to the locations below. Facebook is also building drones and lasers to get more of the global population online.
