iPhone 7 - Between Dream and Future

iPhone 7 rumors say that it is likely that 2016 will bring along the spawn of a new iPhone generation. Despite the rumor, this is not doubted. The idea now is that Apple will release not two, but three phones in their next generation release. In a report by the iPhone Arena, the next iPhone generation may look drastically different than the other versions. If Apple does decide to incorporate 3D holographic capabilities, then this rumor is likely to be true.

The most interesting rumored feature that was previously thought to exist in iPhone 6 is a 3D Display, but you don't have to worry about the glasses because you can use it without one. It might be a wild idea as it comes with a holographic keyboard projected to the surface using four pico projectors. That idea is actually not far off as the iGiant's head, Tim Cook, admitted that they were working on something they said was an "interactive holography display device" and they already filed for patency on that three years ago and only in September 2014 were they awarded with it. So, it's definitely not out of the picture for iPhone 7.

Apple has been found guilty of using a technology, patented by the University of Wisconsin-Madison way back in 1998, in its chips without the proper permission — and it could cost it close $1 billion.

Reuters reports that Apple has been using technology that’s described in this patent to improve the efficiency of its A7, A8 and A8X processors. Those slabs of silicon are found in the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus, as well as a number of iPad models.

The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation filed a case against Apple in January of this year over the mis-use of the patent, and now a Madison, Wisconsin jury has deemed the claims to be reasonable — Apple used the technology without permission.

Now, the trial will move forward to determine the damages that the university is owed. However, the judge presiding over the case has suggested the figure could reach as much as $860 million.

That’s a lot for a University, though relatively less for Apple. Still, the folks at Cupertino may well be wary of the litigious academics:

last month, the university filed a similar complaint, accusing Apple of using the same technology in its A9 and A9X chips without a license. Looks like things could get rather expensive.

That is why, at MWC 2015, we managed to pit a pre-release Galaxy S6 edge against Apple’s iPhone 6 with its blazing A8 chipset and tight software optimization. While the Exynos 7420 in the Galaxy S6 edgekills it in the multicore benchies, the A8 is still on top when it comes to one-on-one processor core power, at least in synthetic tests.

What we tested, however, is real-life experience when it comes to opening the most used stock apps on a phone, like the contacts, messaging, camera and so on, with their app loading times directly on display.
